Who is Rim Suan designed for?
Rim Suan is a non-medical residence suited to older adults who are independently living but who value structure, community, and a well-supported daily environment. We welcome individuals as well as couples. Those requiring full-time medical care would be better served by a clinical facility, and we are always honest about that distinction when enquiries arise.
Can I visit before making any commitment?
Yes โ the Discovery Day Visit exists precisely for this reason. You will have a full day to tour the property, share a meal with current residents, and speak with staff at your own pace. There is no pressure involved, and your questions will be met with complete transparency. Many of our long-term residents began with exactly this kind of visit.
What does the Extended Comfort Stay include?
The month-long stay covers a private furnished room, three daily meals, housekeeping, and full participation in all community activities โ gardening, arts, outings, and social gatherings. A personal host is assigned for your first week to help you find your rhythm. The stay concludes with a gentle reflection meeting to discuss how the experience felt and what you may want to consider next.
How are dietary needs handled?
Our kitchen team prepares meals with individual dietary considerations in mind โ including preferences around salt, sugar, texture, and food type. We take the time at the beginning of each stay to understand what works well for you. This applies to all residency arrangements, from the one-day visit to permanent membership.
What is the process for the Permanent Home Membership?
Most residents who choose the permanent arrangement have first visited on a Discovery Day or completed an Extended Comfort Stay. Once both parties feel it is the right fit, we arrange a suite selection, prepare the living agreement, and coordinate the moving process with the family. An annual living review is conducted each year to ensure the arrangement continues to serve the resident well.
Can families stay involved after a loved one moves in?
Absolutely. Our family liaison coordination is designed to keep relatives informed and engaged without placing a burden on them. Families are welcome to visit at any time during daylight hours, join seasonal events, and receive regular updates on their loved one's engagement with community life. We see families as partners in the living arrangement, not as visitors.
